Running Reports Before Exporting Projected Payroll

After you have prepared your pay cycle data so that you can run your projected payroll export, you should also run reports that reflect the state of your data at this point in the projected payroll cycle.

These reports can be used to verify the accuracy of your payroll after you have completed the export and imported it to your payroll processing program. ADP recommends running at least the following two reports:

Note: Your report structure and formats may be slightly different. If you cannot find these reports, or if they are not displaying projected payroll data, contact your ADP Time & Attendance Representative.

  1. From the Reports menu, select Time & Attendance Reports . Note : If the Time & Attendance Reports option is not visible, make sure that you have selected the Practitioner role from the menu in the upper left corner of the page.
  2. In the Report Categories section of the Reports page, click Administrator Reports .
  3. In the list of Administrator Reports, click the button for the Posting Transaction Error Report.
  4. In the Time Frame drop-down box on the Edit Report page, select Define at Runtime .
  5. Click the Preview button at the bottom of the page.
  6. In the Date Range Entry pop-up window, select the start and end date of the pay period for which you are projecting payroll and click the Submit button. The report id displayed in a separate window.
  7. To save the report as a PDF file, use your browser's Save button or Save menu item.
  8. To print the report, use your browser's Print button or Print menu item.
  9. When you are finished viewing the report, close the report window.

  6. Close the report window.

To run this report (if your company has more than one pay cycle):

  1. From the Reports menu, select Time & Attendance Reports . Note : If the Time & Attendance Reports option is not visible, make sure that you have selected the Practitioner role from the menu in the upper left corner of the page.
  2. In the Report Categories section of the Reports page, click Administrator Reports .
  3. In the list of Administrator Reports, click the button for the Payroll Detail Report.
  4. In the Name field on the Edit Report page, add more information about the pay cycle for which you are preparing the report. For example, "Payroll Detail Report - Biweekly Pay Cycle." Tip: Since you will save this report format to be used repeatedly, do not include the specific date.
  5. In the Report Title field, add more information about the pay cycle for which you are preparing the report. For example, "Payroll Detail Report - Biweekly Pay Cycle."
  6. In the Select Field drop-down box in the Create a New Filter section, select Pay Cycle .
  7. In the Selected Values field, click the button.
  8. In the Pay Cycle Lookup window, select the pay cycle for which you are preparing projected payroll.
  9. Click the Add Filter button.
  10. Click the Save and Preview button. The report is displayed in a separate window.
  11. To save the report as a PDF file, use your browser's Save button or Save menu item.
  12. To print the report, use your browser's Print button or Print menu item.
  13. Close the report window.

Note: The report now appears in the My Reports section of the Reports page. The next time you need to run this report, you can simply click the next to the report name you created for the report.
